University of Virginia’s College at Wise: Student Evaluations

I was an Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise (UVaWise) from August 2005 – December 2010.  I taught a full course load, and often a course overload, with no help from Teaching Assistants as this was an undergraduate-only institution.  I served on various committees including the Faculty Senate.  The physics wing of the Science building underwent a complete renovation during my time there, and I was the lead person responsible for the design of the new spaces, including a machine shop, and I worked closely with the architects.  I was also responsible for a new observatory, working with the same architects.  And right before I left I was picking out the 20″ diameter new telescope to be put in the observatory.
